Simpson finishes season with loss to Menlo

ATHERTON, Calif. - The Lady Red Hawks soccer team ended their season with a 3-0 loss to Menlo College on Saturday, Nov. 3.

The Oaks took the lead 11 minutes into the game, when Natalie Ingram scored on an assist from Kayla Cisneroz to make it 1-0. The Red Hawks’ defense regrouped and held off the Oaks’ attack for the remainder of the half. Their effort was aided by some excellent defending from Bethany Dahl and some outstanding saves from Red Hawk keeper Natasha Kamps. Menlo took the 1-0 lead into the break.

The Oaks scored their second goal of the game three minutes into the second half, when Ingram again found the back of the net again on an assist by Amanda Martinez. The Oaks wrapped up the game and second place in the conference with their third goal in the 79th minute. Tiare Fuentes scored and Cisneroz got her second assist of the game to give Menlo the 3-0 victory.
