Simpson University hosts Nor Cal Challenge

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University's men and women's cross country teams hosted the Nor Cal Challenge on Saturday, Sept. 14. Teams from from Redding, Chico, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Ana, Shingletown, Redwood Estates, Oroville, Vallejo, Richmond, San Luis Obispo, Davis, Fontana, San Pablo, Corte Madera, Fair Oaks, Citrus Heights, San Jose, Oakland, Sunnyvale, Piedmont, Burney, Brisbane, and San Rafael competed in the event.
The first runners to cross the finish line from the women’s cross country team were Jaclyn Van Schooten with a time of 21:32 and Rebekah Studebaker with a time of 21:40. Danielle Domenichell from El Dorado Hills, Calif., finished in first place with a time of 19:23. Van Schooten finished 20th and Studebaker finished 23rd.
The first runners to cross the finish line for the men’s cross country were Tucker Hoffman with a time of 30:12 and Thomas McAtee with a time of 31:55. Ben Keck finished in first place with a time of 27:46. Hoffman finished 17th, and McAtee finished 25th.
The cross country teams will prepare for the Whiskeytown Relays on Sunday, Sept. 22, in Redding, Calif.
