Simpson competes at NAIA West Coast Jamboree

LA HABRA, Calif. - Simpson University's men and women's cross country teams participated in the Biola NAIA West Coast Jamboree held in La Mirada, Calif., on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The men finished 12th out of 14 teams with a total of 323 points. The first to finish for the Red Hawks was Tony Moore, who finished 34th out of 114 participants with a time of 26:57.7. Thomas McAtee finished 64th, Nate Marshall finished 84th, Ryan Guerrero finished 95th, Josh Wright finished 103rd and Brad Arkens 108th.

The women finished 11th out of 15 teams with a time total of 1:44:51.30 and 303 points. The first Simpson runner who placed was Rebekah Studebaker, who finished 43rd out of 143 participants with a time of 19:52.9. Jaclyn Van Schooten finished 69th, Molly Finn finished 78th, Hannah Schmidt finished 85th, Holly Pebles finished 88th, Karissa Scheuermann finished 95th, Summer Holloway finished 102nd, Jovita Avila finished 125th, Ellyn Hilts finished 130th, Christina Thomas finished 133rd, and Vanessa Manier finished 144th.

Both teams are preparing for the Ghoul Run held on Saturday Nov. 2 in Redding, Calif.
