Red Hawks lose at home to Antelope Valley

REDDING, Calif. - The Red Hawks' men's baseball team took to Tiger Field on Saturday, Feb. 17, when they hosted the Pioneers from the University of Antelope Valley. The Pioneers handed the Red Hawks their second loss in as many days, defeating the Simpson 8-2.
Joshua Graves was the starter for the Red Hawks, and Bobby Diaz started for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers got to Graves early, scoring two in the first inning and adding five more in the second. Graves settled down after the shaky start and allowed only two more hits in his next three innings pitched. The Pioneers added another run in the sixth inning, making 8-0 as the Red Hawks headed into eighth. In the bottom of the eighth, the Red Hawks got on the board when Tyler Provost reached first on a fielder’s choice, which scored Harold Adams. Kris Warner also score in the eighth on a throwing error to make it 8-2, which was the final score.
The Red Hawks will next be in action on Sunday, Feb. 17, when they will play a doubleheader, first against the Pioneers from the University of Antelope Valley at 11 a.m. and then against the Owls from Oregon Tech at 2 p.m.
