Simpson loses non-conference game to Sac State

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - On Tuesday, April 9, Simpson University men’s baseball team traveled to Sacramento State to play in a non-conference game. The NCAA Division I Big Sky Conference Hornets (19-12 overall, 8-12 conference) defeated the visiting Red Hawks 7-0.
After a scoreless first inning, the Hornets took advantage of an error in right field. Hornet Justin Higley reached home on the error to give teammate David Del Grande his first RBI of the night.
The Hornets continued their offensive surge, scoring five more runs off Red Hawk pitcher Cameron Imhoff. Senior Josh Graves came in to relieve Imhoff. He gave up one run, giving the Hornets a 7-0 victory.
Jody Robertson and Harold Adams led the Red Hawks with two hits each. Positivity came on the defensive side for the Red Hawks, as they had a total of 11 assists for the game. Shortstop Kris Warner led the Red Hawks with four assists, and third basemen Richard Asdourian followed with three.
Simpson will look to bounce back on the road this weekend (April 12-13), as they take on Lewis-Clark State in Lewiston, Idaho.
