Red Haws struggle offensively against Wildcats

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University men’s basketball team hosted the Chico State University Wildcats on Saturday, Nov. 23. The Red Hawks lost 70-47.

In the first half, the Red Hawks fought hard against the Wildcats, and the teams exchanged baskets. Toward the end of the first half, Chico went on a short run, allowing them to take a 37-25 lead into halftime.

The second half, the Red Hawks struggled offensively, shooting 0% from the 3-point line and 28% from the field. Defensively, the Wildcats forced 22 turnovers which resulted in a 70-47 Simpson loss.

Anthony Williams led Simpson with 15 points and one steal. Ian Corella had eight points, and Shaquille Jones had seven points.

The Red Hawks will look to bounce back as they prepare for their match-up against Northwest Christian on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Eugene, Ore. Northwest Christian defeated the Red Hawks 89-74 when they faced off on Wednesday, Nov. 6 in Redding.
