Red Hawks lose to Great Fall on day one of Menlo Classic

ATHERTON, Calif. - The Simpson University men’s basketball team participated in the Menlo College Classic Tournament on November 8-9. The Red Hawks lost their first game 78-86 to the University of Great Falls University on Friday, Nov. 8.
The Red Hawks went into halftime down 52-38. They were unable to stop Great Falls’ Marcus Hurn and Marcel Towns, who had 23 and 27 points and helped the Argos earn the 86-78 victory.
The Red Hawks were led offensively by Ian Corella’s 17 points. He had help from Shaquielle Jones and Dalton Thacker, who each had 13 points, and Amon Schenk, who had 12. Anthony Williams played the entire game, finishing with 10 points and four assists.
Simpson will look to prepare for day two tournament play as they take on Corban University on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
