KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Simpson University men’s basketball team traveled to Klamath Falls, Ore., to compete against the Oregon Institute of Technology Hustlin’ Owls on Tuesday, Nov. 12. The Owls defeated the Red Hawks 92-59.

The Red Hawks started out strong by offensively moving the ball around and making the Owls’ defense work. With points from all five starters in the first five minutes, sharing the ball helped Simpson stay with the Owls, who were shooting 46 percent from the field and 50 percent from the 3-point line. With four minutes left in the first half, the Owls went on a 13-0 run to take a 28-29 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half the Red Hawks struggled to close the gap, and they got into foul trouble quickly. OIT would capitalize on the Red Hawk’s errors and finished the game with a 92-59 victory.

Ian Corella led the Red Hawks with 15 points, and Dalton Thacker added 11 points.

The Red Hawks, with an overall record of 1-4, will travel to Boise, Idaho, to compete against Boise State University on Friday, Nov. 15.
