Red Hawks finished tied for seventh at San Marcos Fall Classic

SAN MARCOS, Calif. - The Simpson University men’s golf team participated in the California State University of San Marcos Fall Classic golf tournament held at Twin Oaks Golf Course on October 21-22. The Red Hawks finished tied for seventh with Menlo College.

On the first day of the classic, the Red Hawks finished seventh out of 20 teams with a par of +64. Nick Lyskin finished first for Simpson, tying for 25th with a score of 151. Marcus Mezzano tied for 36th place with a score of 154. Nick Norgaard tied for 45th place with a score of 160, and Zion Johnson tied for 60th place with a score of 166.

On day two, Simpson finished tied with Menlo College for seventh place overall. Lyskin finished first for the Red Hawks, tying for 22nd place with a score of 225. Mezzano tied for 37th place with a score of 231. Norgaard finished 48th with a 246 score, and Johnson finished 58th with a score of 166 (Johnson didn’t finish the third round).

The Red Hawks will prepare for the spring season opener called the Border War held in Sacramento, Calif., on February 24-25.
