Simpson wrestling ranked No. 7 in NAIA Coaches Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Simpson University’s men’s wrestling team is ranked as the No. 7 team in the National Associate of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) according to the NAIA Wrestling Coaches’ Preseason Top 20 Poll. The Red Hawks had a solid showing as a first-year program at the 2013 NAIA Nationals, with Brady Beamon, Anthony Vega, and Austin Lobsinger all winning All-American honors in the various weight classes.

Defending national champion Grand View (Iowa) claimed the No. 1 spot after winning their second consecutive national title. Montana State-Northern (No. 2), Missouri Valley (No. 3), and Kentucky schools Campbellsville University (No. 4) and Lindsey Wilson University (No. 5) round out the top five.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the qualifying groups.
