SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The Simpson University men’s wrestling team was in action on Sunday, Jan. 27, when they traveled to take part in duals against the 'Lopes from Grand Canyon University and the host Gators from San Francisco State University. The Red Hawks didn't get the result that they were looking for in either match. They dropped the dual.

Brady Beamon for the Red Hawks answered right back, winning his match at 165 pounds over Juan Carlos Maynes 7-1 to cut the 'Lopes lead in half (6-3). Matthew Tsarnas continued the pace for the Red Hawks, when he won his match (7-4) at 174 pounds over Martin Fabbian to tie the overall score at 6-6. Unfortunately, the Red Hawks failed to score again in the match, and the 'Lopes secured all the points in the remaining seven matches to win 47-6.
