Lady Red Hawks lose to conference rival

ROCKLIN, Calif. - The Red Hawks women's basketball team was in action on Thursday, Jan. 17, when they traveled to take on the Warriors from William Jessup. The Warriors were able to defend their home court, handing the Red Hawks a 75-67 loss.
The game started out close with the teams trading one-point leads and tying four times. Then the Warriors grabbed hold of the game and stretched out a lead, which grew to as many as 10 points. The Warriors enjoyed an eight-point lead at the break (34-26). Bianca Padilla and Nichole Jones led the Red Hawks in the half, scoring five points each. Taylor Borba scored 13 points in the half for the Warriors.
In the second half, the Red Hawks just couldn't get into the swing of the game, and the Warriors maintained control by stretching their lead to as many as 14 points. They were able to hold on for an eight-point win (75-67).
Borba finished the game with 27 points and 10 rebounds, recording a double-double in the win for the Warriors.
The Red Hawks will next be in action on Sunday, Jan. 20 when they host the Golden Eagles from La Sierra University at 2 p.m.
