ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - The Simpson University women's soccer team was in action on Friday, Oct. 18, against the Lions from Soka University. It was a very physical game, with the Lions handing the Red Hawks a 4-0 loss.

In the first half, the Lions capitalized on the Red Hawks’ flat start when Skyler McClanahan got behind the Red Hawk defense and scored to give Soka a 1-0 lead after eight minutes. Six minutes later, the Lions doubled their lead with a goal by Alise Hildreth. The Red Hawks finally settled in and started to play better, keeping the Lions’ attack at bay for the remainder of the half. The Lions dominated the half, out-shooting the Red Hawks 25-3.

In the second half, the Lions found the back of the net two more times. Cassandra Calhoun scored off of a corner kick in the 52nd minute to make it 3-0.
