Katie Bell selected as Cal Pac Pitcher of the Week

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University junior Katie Bell gave up no runs in her lone pitching appearance and was selected as the California Pacific Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the dates of April 1- 7, 2013.

The Rio Linda, Calif., native pitched seven innings and allowed three hits and no runs, while walking two and striking out three. Bell personally went 1-0 on the week, and the Red Hawks went 2-2 on the week. The Red Hawks split their California Pacific Conference doubleheader with Menlo College on Saturday, April 6, in Atherton, Calif., and split their non-conference doubleheader with NCAA Division II member Holy Names University in Hayward, Calif., on Sunday, April 7.

Simpson will have two California Pacific Conference doubleheaders this week. The Red Hawks will take on William Jessup University in Redding on Saturday, April 13, and Menlo College in Redding on Sunday, April 14.
