Simpson held scoreless by Concordia-Irvine

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University women's softball team took on No. 1 Concordia University in the NAIA West Regional Tournament on Friday, April 26. The Eagles defeated Simpson 8-0 in six innings.
Concordia-Irvine took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning with Jenna Joregenson hit a two-run home run. The Eagles took 4-0 lead in the bottom of second by scoring two unearned runs. They added a run in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead, when Hannah Howell hit a solo home run. The Eagles capped their scoring spree with a three-run sixth inning. Caitrin Debaun, Rachel Prentice, and Chanele Dresser each scored a run. Red Hawk freshman Emily Stokes was hit with the loss. She gave up eight runs and 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings of work.
Simpson advances to an elimination game at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27. If they win the elimination game, they will face Concordia-Irvine in a potential championship game at 2 p.m.
