Red Hawks lose doubleheader to Cavaliers

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University men's baseball team hosted the Concordia University Cavaliers on Saturday, March 22 at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. resulting in a 14-6 loss and a 2-0 loss.
In the first game, the Cavaliers took an early 3-0 lead before Daniel Mills scored the Red Hawks first run off a wild pitch in the third inning. Concordia had an11-2 lead going into the eighth inning. The Red Hawks narrowed the Cavaliers’ lead (11-5) when Ryan Lombardi hit a three-run homerun over left field on a 1-0 pitch count. In the last inning, the Red Hawks scored once more and the Cavaliers scored three more runs to win 14-6.
Cameron Imhoff received the loss for the Red Hawks with 26 at bats, two strikeouts, and five earned runs. Lombardi had a game-high four RBIs.
In the second game, both teams created good defensive plays to take the game 0-0 into extra innings. In the 10th inning, the Cavaliers managed to score two runs and the Red Hawks could not answer back, resulting in a 2-0 loss.
Alex Lee received the loss for the Red Hawks with five at bats and two earned runs. Garrett Greenhaw pitched extremely well, pitching nine innings, six strikeouts with no earned runs.
The Red Hawks will suit up against the Cavaliers on Sunday, March 23 at 11 p.m. and 3 p.m.
