Red Hawks lose final home series

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University men's baseball team hosted the No. 2 Lewis-Clark State College Warriors on Sunday, April 13 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. resulting in a 15-6 loss and a 13-1 loss.
In the first game, the Red Hawks scored three runs in the fifth inning and three runs in the seventh inning in the 15-6 loss.
In the third inning, Kurtis Huffman scored on a ground out by Dylan Mumford. With a Daniel Mills’ single to third and a Harold Adams’ triple to the right field fence, the Red Hawks found themselves down 6-3.
In the seventh inning, Mills doubled to center field, sending Jody Robertson home for their fourth run. After an error from the Warriors, Mills stole home and scored. Adams scored Simpson’s final run off Ryan Lombardi’s single to right field.
Mills went 3-for-5 from the plate, had two RBIs, four put outs and four assists. Cameron Imhoff received the loss with 28 at bats, one strikeout, and five earned runs. Humberto Solorio finished the game with 15 at bats, one strikeout, and seven earned runs.
Adams had the only RBI of the game and four put outs, and Mills batted 2-for-4 from the plate. Lombardi received the loss with 30 at bats, two strikeouts, and one earned run. Alex Lee finished the game with nine at bats, two strikeouts, and no earned runs.
Simpson will prepare for their final games of the season on a road trip to Vancouver, British Columbia to compete against University of British Columbia on Friday, April 18 at 12 p.m. and Saturday, April 19 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
