Simpson travels to Southern California and Bay Area

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University men's baseball team traveled to Southern California and the Bay Area on Jan. 27-Feb. 1 to play four different ranked baseball teams, returning home with a 0-11 overall record.
On Monday, Jan. 27, the Red Hawks played at doubleheader against The Master’s College, losing game one 7-2 and game two 16-1. In the first game, the Red Hawks scored first, using a hit batsman, a stolen base, a groundout, and a single to nick Mustang starter Conner Menez for a run in the top of the first, according to The Master’s College athlete page. Highlights from both games include an RBI each from Richard Asdourian and Daniel Mills.
On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the team traveled to Lancaster, Calif., to play a two-game series against Antelope Valley. The Red Hawks lost game one 5-3 and game two 5-0. Highlights from the series include Luke Tessman’s with three RBIs and Asdourian’s, Kurtice Huffman’s and George Ceccheti’s three assists each.
On Thursday, Jan. 30 Simpson traveled to San Marcos, Calif., to compete against the CSU San Marcos Cougars and lost 16-3. Mills, Dylan Mumford, and Elden Whisman all scored a run and pitcher Walker Gemmill had one strikeout.
The last school the Red Hawks played was Menlo College. The Red Hawks and Oaks played a three-game series, resulting in a 14-4, 10-5, and 9-4 loses for Simpson.
The Red Hawks will prepare to host the Owls of Oregon Institute of Technology on Friday, Feb. 14 at 1p.m.
