Simpson finishes season in British Columbia

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - The Simpson University men's baseball team traveled to Vancouver, British Columbia to compete against the University of British Columbia on Saturday, April 19 resulting in a 12-7 loss and a 9-0 loss.

In the first game, British of Columbia scored eight runs in the second inning, but the Red Hawks answered back in the third and fourth inning by scoring one run in the third and four runs in the fourth. The Red Hawks would score two more times in the seventh inning and eventually lost 12-7.

Ryan Lombardi and Harold Adams both earned two RBIs, and Jody Robertson and George Ceccheti each earned three assists from the second and third base positions. Joshua Gilmore received the loss with 23 at bats, one strikeout, and nine earned runs. Justin Hedberg finished the game with 13 at bats, two strikeouts, and two earned runs.

In the second game, the Red Hawks struggled to score as the University of British Columbia continued to hit well. Simpson lost 9-0.

Lombardi, Alex Lee, Dylan Mumford, and Aaron Curfman all went 1-for-2 from the plate. Humberto Solorio earned the loss with 21 at bats, three strikeouts, and eight earned runs.
