Simpson University Sports News

01.06.2014

Entering his first year playing for Simpson University’s men’s basketball team, Anthony Williams has been the most consistent player for the Red Hawks and uses his speed and quick court knowledge to outdo the opposing team.

Williams is a transfer track star from Sacramento State University, where he was on the Dean's List. His athletic achievements include being the MVP of track team at Sac State and a national championship outdoor qualifier outdoor in 2012. He is also in the top 10 in three different events in the Sac State books. So far this season, Williams is averaging 10.33 points and 3.72 rebounds a game.

This past week against California Pacific Conference rival William Jessup University, Williams made key plays, including blocking a shot that could have potentially tied the game, to help Simpson secure a 59-54 victory. He also was the second leading scorer with 14 points and led the team with four assists and three steals.
