Red Hawks Keep Playoff Hopes Alive With Win Over Pacific Union

ANGWIN, Calif. - The Simpson University women’s volleyball team was able to stay live in the California Pacific Conference playoff race with a win over third place Pacific Union College on Nov 1.

Simpson won the first set 25-20. In set two, the Pioneers came out strong, attacking the Red Hawks and winning 25-16. In sets three and four, both teams battled hard, and the Red Hawks were able to win both sets 25-23 and 25-21.

Freshmen Ashley Cervantes recorded 17 digs and 17 assists. Senior Jamie Pickett recorded 30 digs, sophomore Kelsey Reibsamen had 13 digs, and junior Jazmin Wallace had 12 digs.

The win puts Simpson in a three-way tie for fourth place with UC Merced and Embry-Riddle (AZ).

The Red Hawks return to action on Friday, Nov.7 in The Cage against UC Merced. The match set to start at 7 p.m.
