Simpson Co-Player of the Week: Dalton Thacker
Dalton Thacker has shown strong leadership and court knowledge in his second year playing on the Simpson University men’s basketball team. As a starting point guard and main scorer, the Red Hawks will look to Thacker to lead them as they approach start the California Pacific Conference season.
Thacker’s accomplishments include Cal Pac Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Cal Pac honors for his outstanding play during the 2012-2013 season. His academic accomplishments include being on the Dean's List. Thacker currently leads his team in assists with 3.07 per game and steals with 1.67 per game. He also averages 12.4 points a game.
Simpson Co-Player of the Week: Nichole Jones
In her fourth year playing on the Simpson University women’s basketball team, Nichole Jones shows that through defense, offense can be created. With her quick hands and ability to read opponents, the Red Hawks will look to Jones to help win a California Pacific Conference Championship.
Jones’ accomplishments include earning the women's basketball team's Defensive Award and Second Team NCCAA West Region and First Team All-Cal Pac honors for her outstanding play during the 2012-2013 season. Jones currently leads her team in points with a13.81 average and steals with a 3.0 average. She is ranked No. 4 nationally in total steals per game.
Jones finished with 23 points, eight rebounds and four steals in the Red Hawks’ 72-65 loss against the Concordia Irvine University Eagles on Sunday, Dec. 29.
