Southern Oregon Runs Past Lady Red Hawks

ASHLAND, Ore. - The Simpson University women’s basketball team traveled to Ashland, Ore., to face No. 21 Southern Oregon University on Nov. 4. The Lady Red Hawks lost 101-72.

The first few minutes of the contest went back-and-forth, and the largest lead was 10 by the Raiders. Southern Oregon went on a 20-8 run and had a 54-30 lead at half time.

In the second half, the Lady Red Hawks made a late run, cutting the lead to 17 with eight minutes to go, but ran out of gas. The Raiders sealed their victory with a 22-10 run.

Sophomore Esther Wofford led the Red Hawks with 26 points. Senior Katie Lenik followed with 12 points, and freshmen Fallon Greenhaw contributed 11 points.

Simpson will travel to Southern California to face Biola University on Nov.7 at 5:30 p.m. and Hope International University on Nov. 8 at 2 p.m.
