Red Hawks participate in Corban Invitational

SALEM, Ore. - The Simpson University women’s golf team The Simpson University women’s golf team traveled to Salem, Ore., to compete in the Corban University Invitational Golf Tournament on March 17-18.
After the first day, Simpson was in third place out of six teams, which included Concordia University, Northwest Nazarene, Corban University, College of Idaho, and Northwest Christian University. The Red Hawks had 733 team points at the end of round one, with Christina Phelps sitting in fourth place and Serina Castillo in eighth place.
At the end of day two, Simpson did not finish as a team, but three Red Hawks placed individually. Phelps finished first for the Red Hawks, placing eighth overall with a score of 262. Castillo came in ninth place with a total score of 264, and Kimmie Berg finished 19th with a total score of 284.
The Red Hawks will prepare for their next invitational on April 7-8 at Northwest Christian University in Eugene, Ore.
