Red Hawks earn road wins against Antelope Valley

LANCASTER, Calif. - The Simpson University women's softball team traveled to Lancaster, Calif., to compete against the University of Antelope Valley on Sunday, March 16 at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. The Red Hawks won game one 12-1 and game two 6-5.

Game one highlights include Kaylana Mah going 3-for-4 from the plate with four RBI and a homerun, Cherie DeJesus’ homerun, and Katelyn Bell receiving the win. Bell faced 17 batters and had two strikeouts and allowed one earned run. The Red Hawks scored nine of their 12 runs in the fifth inning.

Highlights from game two include Noel Montes’ three RBI, and Shayley Madruga and Taylor Hill going 2-for-3 at the plate. Paris Hallums earned the win, facing 10 batters with six strikeouts and two earned runs.

Simpson will look to prepare for their next games against Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, Calif., at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, March 17.
