Red Hawks continue to move up national rankings

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University women's softball team continues to move up the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Softball Coaches’ Top 25 rankings. On Tuesday, April 22, the national office released its sixth poll of the regular season, and the Red Hawks moved from the No. 18 spot to the No. 17 spot. Simpson became a newcomer to the poll after receiving votes in the first preseason edition of the poll and were ranked No. 21.
The Red Hawks are also ranked in many categories in the NAIA Division I statistics. They are ranked fifth in home runs per game (1.125), fifth in slugging percentage (0.572), and 10th in runs batted in per game (6.700).
The women’s softball team is also ranked No.1 in the National Christian College Athletic Association. Last week the Red Hawks clinched their third straight California Pacific Conference title.
