Red Hawks go undefeated in Simpson Classic

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University women's softball team hosted the Simpson Softball Classic on Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22. Teams from Corban University, Concordia University-Portland, and William Jessup University also participated in a series of weekend games.

On Saturday, Feb. 22, the Red Hawks defeated the Concordia University-Portland Cavaliers 11-3 and the Corban University Warriors 8-4.

In game one, KaraWall led the Red Hawks with three RBIs. Noel Montes led with two assists, and Carlye Avey received the win for the Red Hawks with four strikeouts and two earned runs.

In game two, Kaylana Mah led the Red Hawks with three RBIs, and Cherie DeJesus led with two assists. Katelyn Bell received the win for the Red Hawks with six strikeouts and two earned runs.

Simpson (9-3 overall) will prepare for their next home games against Oregon Institute of Technology on Sunday, March 2. Game one is scheduled to start at 1p.m.
