Women Win PUC Cross Country Invitational

ANGWIN, Calif. - The Simpson University women's cross country team won the Pacific Union Cross Country Invitational with a time of 1:59:53.

Senior Holly Pebbles finished second with a time of 22:02, senior Summer Holloway finished third with a time of 22:46, and freshman Taylor Ford finished sixth with a time of 23:44. Sophomore Kendall Durre placed eighth, running at time of 25:21, and senior Christina McAtee finished 20th with a time of 25:58.

On the men's side, Red Hawk sophomore Alek Simpson finished second with a time of 29:18, fellow sophomore Joey Belknap finished fourth, running a time of 29:58, and senior Ryan Guerrero finished fifth with a time of 30:57. Freshman Kevin Alcosiba finished seventh with a time of 31:45, and senior Colby Hanna finished 21st with a time of 36:40.

The Red Hawks will travel to Salem, Ore., for the Willamette Invitational on Oct. 3.
