Red Hawks Go 1-1 on Day One Against College of Idaho

CALDWELL, Idaho - The Simpson University baseball team split a doubleheader at College of Idaho on March 28.
In game one, the Red Hawks jumped out to a 2-0 lead, only to lose 4-2. Robert Bristol took the loss, allowing four runs on six hits, with three walks and four strikeouts. Casey Meyer was 1-for-3 with a run. George Cechetti and Dylan Mumford were both 1-for-4 with an RBI.
The Red Hawks won game two by a score of 5-2. James Humphrey earned his first win of the season, pitching six strong innings and only allowing one run on five hits, walking six and striking out three. Jacob Parent threw three innings, allowing one run on four hits and earning the save. The top hitters were Meyer, who went 4-for-5 with a triple; Elden Whisman, who was 2-for-4 with a run, a double, and an RBI; and Mumford, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and triple.
