Simpson Battles Against Concordia-Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Simpson University baseball team traveled to Portland Ore., to take on Concordia University-Portland in a doubleheader on April 11. Both games were close and consisted of low scoring from both teams, with the Cavaliers winning game one 2-1 and winning game two 3-0.
In game one, the Red Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning off a home run by Jacob Parent. Concordia scored two runs in the sixth inning to take a 2-1 lead. They maintained their one-run advantage for the remainder of the game and won game one 2-1.
Robert Bristol received the loss and drops to 1-7 on the season. He pitched all eight innings and compiled six strikeouts.
In game two, the Cavaliers shut out the Red Hawks. Concordia’s three-run fifth inning earned them the 3-0 victory in game two. James Humphrey received the loss, pitching six innings and allowing nine runs. He also had eight strike outs.
