ATHERTON, Calif. - The Simpson University baseball team traveled to Atherton, Calif., to take on the Menlo College Oaks in a doubleheader on April 3. The Red Hawks lost game one 13-6 and game two 13-3.

Game one began in the Oaks’ favor as they scored seven unanswered runs. The Red Hawks got on the board in the fifth inning when Kurtis Huffman doubled to left-center and Aaron Curfman scored. In the eighth inning, Luke Tessman singled to right, driving in Curfman. Elden Whisman also scored on the play.

Game two again proved the offensive power of the Oaks, who earned a 13-3 victory over the visiting Red Hawks.

The Red Hawks scored once in the third when Kyle Ferguson singled to left driving in Whisman. In the fourth, Walker Gemmill reached base on a wild throw that allowed Jacob Parent to score.
