Simpson Drops Two to No. 23 UBC

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University baseball team completed a four-game series against No. 23 University of British Columbia on March 15, losing 4-0 and 8-1.
Humberto Solorio was the losing pitcher in game one, going eight innings and giving up two earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
In game two, the Red Hawks sent Justin Hedberg to the mound. Hedberg gave up four runs on three hits, walking four and striking out two. Kyle Martin pitched four strong innings in relief, giving up two runs on three hits. Martin struck out two and walked three. Hedberg took the loss for the Red Hawks. Matt Kiyota went 2-for-4 in the loss.
The Red Hawks continue league play on March 21 against the Oregon Tech Owls.
