Red Hawks Lose Close Game to Grace College

WINONA LAKE, Indiana - The Simpson University men’s basketball team took on Grace College in the second round of the NCCAA national tournament on March 19. The No. 7 Red Hawks fell to the No. 3 Lancers 83-77.
The Red Hawks had a good start in the first half and trailed by only two at halftime. Shaquille Jones was Simpson's leading scorer in the first with 11 points. Marc Kirkland and Justin Beskeen came off the bench and both put up six points in the first half for the Red Hawks.
At the beginning of the second half, Grace College went on a run and took a commanding lead over the Red Hawks. Dalton Thacker put up a solid 15 points along with 13 by Anthony Williams. Their combined efforts were not enough to take the lead. Simpson fell to Grace College 83-77.
The Red Hawks will play at 10 a.m. (1 p.m. EST) in the seventh place game.
