Red Hawks Fall Short of Come-From-Behind Win Against Antelope Valley

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University men’s soccer team hosted the University of Antelope Valley on Sept. 26. After being down 2-0 at the end of the first half, the Red Hawks tried to mount a come-from-behind win in the second, but fell short, losing 4-3.
The Red Hawks had a slow start in the first half, and the Pioneers scored two goals early to give them a 2-0 lead at the half. In the second half, Simpson scored three goals, one by sophomore Travis Ratzlaff and two goals by freshman Brandon Jacobsen.
Sophomore goalie Michael Jones finished with five saves and allowed four goals. Antelope Valley out-shot Simpson 23-11.
Simpson returns to action against William Jessup University at the Simpson Soccer Field on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Kick-off set for 3 p.m.
