Red Hawks Eliminated From Tournament With Loses To Warriors and Hawks

IRVINE, Calif. - The Simpson University women’s softball team was eliminated from Golden State Athletic Conference (GASC) Softball Tournament on April 30. The Lady Red Hawks lost their first-round match-up against William Jessup University 6-2. They lost 5-0 to San Diego Christian College in a second-round elimination game.

During the game against William Jessup University, Amy Rodriguez, Paris Hallums, and Kacey Pokorny all pitched for Simpson. Marissa Bravo and Anjelica Cisneros each scored a run for the Red Hawks.

In the game against San Diego Christian, Hallums pitched the Red Hawks, allowing only five runs. With only three hits and no runs in game two for the Red Hawks, they fell to San Diego Christian 5-0.

By being eliminated from the GASC Tournament, Simpson will not be able to qualify for the NAIA national tournament. They Lady Red Hawks will, however, be playing in the NCCAA Softball World Series on May 13-15 in Botetourt, VA.
