Lady Red Hawks Win Final Conference Doubleheader Of The Season

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University women’s softball team continued its matchup against the Menlo College Oaks with another doubleheader on April 18. The Red Hawks won game one 13-5 and game two 9-0.
The two teams went back-and-forth to start game one, and the game was tied 2-2 after three innings.
A five-run fourth inning provided the separation that the Red Hawks needed to take the lead. This inning consisted of hits from Aleisha Brown and Marissa Bravo and RBIs from Courtney Thomas and Jessica Dager. The Oaks scored three runs in the fifth, but this wasn’t enough as the Red Hawks went on to score six more in the following two innings to win 13-5.
Paris Hallmus received the win and threw four strikeouts.
Game two was controlled by the Red Hawks as they shut out the Oaks 9-0. Leading the way for the Red Hawks was Bravo, who went 3-for-3 from the plate with two RBIs.
Heidi Sundquist got the win and only gave up four hits.
This concluded the regular season for the Red Hawks, who finished with an impressive 33-15 overall record and a 12-1 conference record.
