Lady Red Hawks Go 1-1 on Last Day of Northwest Cup

HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. - The Simpson University softball team finished up play in the Northwest Cup with games against tournament host No. 15 Concordia University-Portland and the College of Idaho on Feb. 22.
The Lady Red Hawks lost their first game of the day to the Concordia Cavaliers 3-0. The Cavaliers held the Red Hawks scoreless and only allowed five hits the entire game. This was the first shutout the Red Hawks have had to endure this season. Paris Hallums received the loss for Simpson. She gave up six hits and three earned runs.
In their second game of the day, the Lady Red Hawks defeated the College of Idaho 9-1. This was Simpson’s second victory over the Yotes during Northwest Cup play. They earned a 12-11 victory on the first day of the tournament.
