REDDING, Calif. - Coach Derrick Pringle. Jr. was looking for the best start of his career at Simpson University against the Pacific Union Pioneers (1-6) on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Heritage Student Life Center. The Lady Hawks answered the to their leader’s call with a convincing 57-43 victory.

The Red Hawks started out the game much slower than their previous 80-50 victory on Jan 7. They were down for much of the first half until the combination of Dominique Simmons and Alyssa Foster closed the gap to four points at the half.

The Red Hawks went on a 34-16 run in the second half to finish off the Lady Pioneers. Foster collected 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Simmons, the reigning Cal Pac Player of the Week, added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double, her fourth this season.

Pacific Union got solid contributions from Devin Tinny and JoAnne Mauries who combined for 27 points in the contest.
