ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

The following are general requirements by the NAIA for a student-athlete to be eligible to participate in intercollegiate athletics. Please check with school counselors, coaches, the NAIA website, or Simpson Athletics for further information.

Incoming freshman must meet at least two of the following three requirements:*

  1. Minimum SAT - 860 (Critical Reading and Math) OR Minimum ACT - 18 Composite
  2. Minimum GPA - 2.0
  3. If either the SAT or GPA requirement is not met, athletes must graduate in the top half of their class.

Transfer Students must meet the following requirements:**

  1. Have received 24 semester units (or its equivalent) for each academic year since high school graduation.
  2. GPA for juniors must be 2.0 for all previous coursework.
  3. The last two semesters must have 12 units each (or their equivalent) with passing grades.

Inernational students who are incoming freshmen must meet the above incoming freshmen eligibility requirements. International students who are tranferring must meet the above transfereligibility requirements.

*Meeting athletic eligibility requirements does not determine acceptance into Simpson University. The university reserves the right to deny anyone admission who does not meet standard admissions requirements as determined by the university.

**There are many exceptions regarding transfer athletes repeating course work and for-credit/no credit courses. Each athlete is reviewed on an individual basis to confirm eligibility.

Because the success of our students is important to us, applicants who do not meet standard admissions requirements may need to participate in an individual entrance interview with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions to be considered for acceptance.

For more information concerning your eligibility contact the athletic department. You can also read entire eligibility rules for the NAIA at http://www.naia.org/
