College: Corella is entering his second year playing for the Red Hawks. He was named the California Pacific Conference Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-Cal Pac for his outstanding play during the 2011-2012 season. His academic accomplishments include making the Dean's List for the 2011 spring semester.

High School: Corella played four years of varsity basketball at Chino Hills High School. He also played volleyball and competed in track and field. His athletic honors include winning the coaches award in 2010, being named First Team All-League 2009-2010, Second Team All-League 2008-2009, All-Tournament 2007-2008, Varsity Basketball MVP 2007-2008, and All-American Third Team 2007-2008. He earned the Academic Athlete Award in 2008-2009 and 2009-2010.

Personal: Ian is the son of William and Debra Corella. His hobbies include piano and sports. He is unsure of what he wants to do after he graduates from college.

Reason for coming to Simpson: "I came to Simpson because former Simpson University assistant men's basketball coach Marc Vilas gave me the opportunity to play college basketball."
