Rufus Humphrey Jr

Previous School: University of Tennessee, Knoxville
College: Humphrey is entering his first season play for the Red Hawks. He transferred to Simpson from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he was a member of the practice team.
High School: Humphrey played two years of varsity basketball at Culver City High School and graduated in the top 10 percent of his class. He also played baseball and volleyball and competed in track (long jump). He earned All-CIF second team and all-league honors. In 2011, he was named Most Improved Player, Centaur Player of the Year, Most Outstanding Senior in the Sport of Basketball, and Southern California Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He was a four-year scholar-athlete and a two-time team captain and varsity letterman. He helped lead his team to 21-8 record, a second place Ocean League finish, and a trip to the third round of the CIF playoffs. He played club basketball for Pressure Basketball and One Way.
Personal: Rufus is the son of Rufus Humphrey Sr. and Terry Humphrey. He likes to read, play basketball, and play UNO with his friends. His career goal is to become a forensic scientist.
Reason for coming to Simpson: "Simpson has a great environment where I can focus on my relationship with God, my studies and basketball."
