College: Returning in his fourth season for the Red Hawks, Guzman is looking to lead the team to a successful season as team captain. In addition to his unyielding leadership that shows itself on and off the field, he is a strong athletic midfield player who will help the Red Hawks control the ball and create scoring opportunities. He received California Pacific Conference Honorable Mention honors for his play during the 2010 season. As a freshman, he played in 13 games and was selected to the All-Cal Pac second team.

High School: Michael played four years of varsity soccer at Calvary Chapel Downey. He also ran cross country and track. He played club soccer for the Cerritos Brigade. His academic honors include graduating in the top 20 of his class with a 4.2 GPA.

Personal: Michael is the son of Lucas and Deborah Guzman. One of his hobbies is body boarding. His favorite athlete is Thierry Henry. Michael's career goals are to play professional soccer and a pastor.

Reason for coming to Simpson: “I came to Simpson to develop a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ and to play soccer at the college level.”
