College: Piñon is entering his first season with the Red Hawks. He is a transfer from Bakersfield College. In 2011, he finished in sixth place (197 pounds) at the CCAA Southern Regionals and was a CCAA State qualifier.

High School: Piñon competed in three years of varsity wrestling at Woodlake High School. He also played football and basketball and competed in track and field. In 2008, he was the East Sequoia League Track & Field Shot-Put MVP and East Sequoia League wrestling champion in the 189 pound weight class.

Personal: Tyson is the son of Guadalupe Robles Piñon. He enjoys reading, writing, researching, exercising, and engaging in intellectual conversations. His career goal is to become a psychiatrist.

Reason for coming to Simpson: "I chose Simpson because of the small Christian community, their psychology program, and it also provided me with an opportunity to further my college wrestling career."
