Men's Baseball Coaching Staff
Travis Fortner - Head Coach707-489-9915
Coach Fortner was hired as the head men’s baseball coach in the spring of 2012. He was first hired in the fall of 2011 as an assistant coach before being asked to fill the interim head coach position. He led the Red Hawks to their first 20-win season in school history in 2012. 2013 was a rebuilding year, where young players had to step up into starting roles after losing 16 seniors from 2012. With the combination of battle-tested players from last year and the addition of a solid recruiting class, Fortner has the team’s eyes set on a winning season in 2014.
Fortner played two years of baseball at the College of the Siskiyous, where he led the team in home runs both years. He then received a scholarship to continue his college baseball career at York College, a small NAIA Christian liberal arts school in central Nebraska. While at York, he assisted the Panthers to their first two regional playoff appearances in school history. He also held many team speed and strength records. Fortner played right field and third base during his college years.
