College: McAtee is entering his second year of running cross country for Simpson University. He transfered from William Jessup University prior to the 2012 season. While at William Jessup, his athletic honors included earning the 6th Man of the Year award. He won Simpson's most improved award in 2012. His academic achievements include earing Simpson's 2013 communication award.

High School: McAtee ran four years of varsity cross country at Nevada Union High School. He also competed in basketball and track and field. His athletic accomplishments include earning Freshman of the Year (2008), the workhorse award (2009), and coaches awards (2010 and 2011). He was a scholar-athlete from 2008-2011.

Personal: Thomas is the son of Craig and Nancy McAtee. His hobbies include backpacking, camping, biking, running, basketball, anything outdoors, and playing guitar. His career goal is to go into mission work.

Reason for coming to Simpson: "I chose Simpson because of the community and the focus it has on growing together in Christ. The Redding area is beautiful and the trails are perfect for running."
