Men's Soccer Coaching Staff
HEAD COACH: Luke Manwaring
lmanwaring@simpsonu.eduLuke Manwaring was hired as the the head coach of the men's soccer team in 2012. He had a successful first season and led his team to the California Pacific Championship. The Red Hawks lost to Embry-Riddle in the first round.
"With the two ACL tears that we had to key members of our team early in the season, we can be extremely proud of last season," said Manwaring. "Two big wins against our rivals and an impressive 2-2 tie with Marymount can give us a huge boost going into this season. Defensively we were excellent last year. The key to this year is creating more offense to take the pressure off of our defense."
On the back of an excellent recruiting year, Coach Luke Manwaring is incredibly positive looking at this season.
"Winning the CalPac North is something that we could definitely achieve. I want this team to have big ambition."
Manwaring was born and raised in Windsor, England, and is a life-long Manchester United fan. He recently married his long time best friend, Larissa Rock.
ASSISTANT COACH: Dan Anderson
deanderson@simpsonu.eduDan Anderson, aka "The Voice", was hired as the head coach of the women's soccer team in March 2012. He is also the assistant coach of the men's soccer team. He served as the team's assistant coach for two years before being hired as head coach. After a successful playing career at Simpson, including a trip to Nationals as a starting goalie his freshman year, he would like to enjoy the same success as a coach. Inspired by Mike Phelan, Dan hopes he can be a strong head coach and have a huge influence on the team. Dan is married to Meghan (Flinn) Anderson.
