College: Katy is a sophomore guard out of Sacramento, Calif. Her poise and basketball knowledge will help Simpson as the Lady Red Hawks look to push the ball and get defensive stops this season.

High School: Katy attended Rosemont High School, where she played four years of varsity basketball. During high school, Hahn was named to the Sacramento Metro All League Team, MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. She played club basketball for the Cordova Flames and the Pacific Pistols.

Personal: Katy has been playing basketball since she was 6 and names her parents as her biggest supporters. She grew up watching the Sacramento Monarchs and was inspired to play basketball. Her favorite thing about basketball would be the group of friends that comes with it. “I like that I make friends who all have the similar interest of basketball,” she says. Being an only child, Hahn says her teammates are the closest thing to siblings she has. “I also really like the adrenaline rush that comes with playing in games,” she says. Her favorite memory comes from her senior year at Rosemont. On senior day, the team found out they would be making playoffs for the first time in school history.

Hahn’s favorite athlete is Ray Allen and Kobe Bryant in a close second place. Katy is a big music fan and enjoys The Fray, Rob Thomas, Kanye West, Big Sean, and Rihanna. She is a Sacramento Kings fan as well as a Tennessee Lady Volunteers fan. A fun fact about Katy is her arms are double-jointed.

Katy is the daughter of Dave and Pam Hahn. When she’s not playing basketball, she likes to travel, be with her family and listen to music. Academically, Katy received a merit letter two years in high school, has been a student-athlete of the year, and her career ambition is to go into sports management and possibly become a collegiate athletic director.

Reason for coming to Simpson: "I chose Simpson because of basketball, it's good distance from home, it's the most affordable and had my major, and it's a Christian school."
