College: Courtney is a very decorated Simpson soccer player. She earned Cal Pac Player of the Year honors in 2008 and 2009. She was an NAIA All-American in 2009. Opie played in sixteen games and recorded 21 goals last season as a sophomore. Opie was selected First Team All-Cal Pac her freshman and sophomore seasons. She ranked third in the nation for goals in the NAIA as well.

High School: Courtney played three years of varsity soccer at Sonora High School. Her athletic honors include First Team All-League for three seasons (2005-2007) and league MVP (2006). Courtney played club soccer for the Tuolumne Typhoon. She also played volleyball in high school.

Personal: Courtney is the daughter of Jim and Theresa Opie. Some of her hobbies include four wheeling, snowboarding and wakeboarding. Her career ambition is to become a nurse.

Reason for coming to Simpson: “I love Simpson University, and I love the soccer program.”
