College: Muro is entering her first season playing for the Red Hawks. She was on the Dean's List her freshman year at Simpson. She entered Simpson with 38 units already completed.

High School: Muro played three years of varsity soccer. She earned Freshman of the Year and junior varsity MVP honors. She was on the honor roll all four years. She played club soccer for the Corona Eagles, Power, Chelsea FC, Arsenal FC, Canyon PSA. In 2009, her team won the Arsenal Gunner's Cup team championship, and she was named player MVP. In 2010, her team won the Canyon PSA Tournament team championship, and she was named player MVP.

Personal: Alyssa is the daughter of Ruben and Allison Muro. Her interests include Jesus, art, theology, community, fictional/historical literature, love and transparency. Her career goal is to help others realize their potential.

Reason for coming to Simpson: "I chose Simpson University because of the northern location, small undergrad population, Christian-life focus, recognition of it's teacher credentialing program, financial aid and the persistency of my admissions counselor. The willow tree was also great."
