College: de Hoop is entering her second season playing for the Red Hawks. She was on the Dean's List during the spring 2013 semester. She won the Newcomer of the Year Award in 2013.

High School: Marijke played three years of varsity soccer; she also played basketball. She earned honorable mention and scholar-athlete honors her senior year. Her basketball team won the 4A State Championship in 2012. She was voted most inspirational by her teammates. She graduated with an honors diploma. She played club soccer for Basin United.

Personal: Marijke is the daughter of Arjen and Christina de Hoop. Her career goal is to be an elementary school teacher.

Reason for coming to Simpson: "God chose, I followed. Simpson University is the best fit for me because I can pursue a degree in education and continue playing soccer."
